This game in the Round of 16 pits the winners of Group F against the runners up of Group E. I'm not sure anybody will have placed a bet on Hungary to win Group F except maybe a few crazy Hungarians but they managed it. It seems very harsh that they managed to win a group that contained Portugal and Austria, but still somehow have Belgium in the knockout round. Belgium as I said before finished runners up in Group E behind Italy in a more expected result and will be fancying their chances of a quarter final place by putting Hungary away quickly and effectively.
Hungary as stated before managed to put together an extraordinary set of results to end up as Group F winners and they deserve massive credit for that. I completely wrote Hungary off before the tournament but they made Austria look ordinary, salvaged a point against Iceland and had Portugal looking to Cristiano Ronaldo just to scrape a draw. Can they continue that team spirit and shock factor in this game? Time will tell.
Belgium had a horrible start to Euro 2016 with a 2-0 loss to Italy. It wasn't just the loss itself, it was the manner in which they lost, they offered absolutely nothing from a defence or attacking point of view and many people wondered if they were going to crumble. 2 matches later and they ended the group on 6 points and they deserve a lot of credit for turning it around. The turning point was definitely the second half against the Republic of Ireland, where they ended up scoring 3 goals and playing excellent free flowing football, add to that a 1-0 win against Sweden and here they are with much more confidence meaning Hungary could be in a long day.
It seems like every time I write Hungary off, they come out and prove me wrong but I really feel that this is the stage where their luck runs out. Belgium have a fantastic playing squad especially from an attacking point of view but they don't always match up to the expectations of fans and pundits alike. That's the only chance Hungary are going to have, if Belgium decide to have another off day. I just feel like something clicked in the Ireland game and they will march on to the quarter finals.
Before the Republic of Ireland game, I turned to my mate and said 'what exactly does Axel Witsel do?' He then proceeded to be an excellent attacking outlet in the second half and managed to bag a goal for himself. This guy knows where the net is and it is definitely worth sticking a few quid on him bagging again and you should get some decent odds on it.
I do fancy Hungary to get at least one goal and its likely to come from Dzsudzsak who has been by far their most influential player in these Euros, and he should be seeing as he is the most expensive Hungarian player of all time. The problem for Hungary is that I think Belgium will get a few. Romelu Lukaku found his shooting boots against the Irish and I think he will want to add to that tally and challenge for the Golden Boot.
I think this game will be 0-0 or 1-1 at half time with the Belgians winning it in the second half. Belgium have scored all of their goals in the second half so far and they seem to perform much better in the second half of games and I expect that to continue here.
Hazard had an up and down season with Chelsea that was, to be honest, mostly down however, he seems to have forgotten those troubles in these Euros and he has pretty much done everything except score so far. I fancy him to break that duck and score the first goal in this game to complete a yearlong turnaround for him.
Dzsudzsak loves to get the ball out on the right wing with his left foot, drive at defenders, cut inside and smash one in from 20-30 yards. He has been doing it for a long time and a lot of teams have struggled to stop him from doing it, especially Portugal in the last game. He scored a couple of beautiful goals in that game and he will be fancying his chances of doing it again here. I also fancy his chances of doing this against Belgium even with Thibaut Courtois in goal.
