Most people will be looking at this game as a no brainer, Germany are the world champions and have had a solid start to the tournament whereas Slovakia only managed to creep through Group B in 3rd place, so it is difficult to argue against that however, this is tournament football and anything can happen. All it takes is for Germany to have 1 bad day or Slovakia to step their game up for this 1 match and we could be looking at an entirely different result.
Germany as I said before are the current world champions and a very formidable opponent. They also finished top of their group as expected however it was not all plain sailing for the Germans as they only managed to muster a 0-0 draw against Poland and only put 1 goal past Northern Ireland so this is not a foregone conclusion by any means. Thomas Muller is yet to score at Euro 2016 which is the biggest surprise in this Germany team so he will want to bag at least a goal in this game however, he has been unlucky especially the last game where he hit the bar.
Slovakia qualified in 3rd place in Group B behind Wales and England with 4 points. They had a poor first game against Wales losing 2-1 however they did get a lot better as the group went on with an impressive victory against Russia and a brilliant defensive display against England giving them a deserved place in the knockout phase. Slovakia will know that it is likely to take another brilliant defensive display and a goal from a set piece or on the counter attack if they're to win this game.
It is a big ask of Slovakia but there have been bigger surprises in International football so don't rule it out. A Slovakia win would be a massive shock though so most people's money will be on Germany, as will mine.
Undefeated in the tournament so far and they don't even look to have gotten out of first gear. The Germans are always one of the favourites going into an international tournament and it's no different here. Germany have the quality and experience to see off Slovakia and most likely will do barring one of the biggest shocks in European Championship history. The odds won't be great for a Germany win but you're highly likely to lose your money if you go for Slovakia.Betfred £30 Free Bet
This one really is an outside punt but could you imagine the scenes if Slovakia got a very late winner? It would be the stuff of legend and imagine the scenes if your household if you stuck a few quid on it!Tipbet €100 Free Bet
Germany are close to clicking and blowing someone away however, I'm not sure that this game is the time it will happen. They still seem to be playing like they're already 3-0 from the starting whistle. Germany probably will win this game but I think Slovakia showed against England that they can defend well, so I think the Germans will be limited to a couple of goals. As far as Slovakia scoring is concerned, I'm not so sure.Bet365 £200 Free Bet
I can see the Germans scoring a goal either side of half time and winning the game relatively comfortably. It won't be like an exhibition match by any means but the German's are very efficient and know how to get the job done. They have more than enough to see off the threat of Slovakia and book a place in the quarter finals against Italy or Spain.MobilBet €50 Free Bet
Mario Gomez used to be one of the deadliest strikers in German football, then a move to Fiorentina lowered that reputation significantly. He just couldn't score in Italy and has now ended up at Turkish Super Lig team Besiktas. I've watched him play for Germany a few times in the last couple of months and that deadly eye for goal is still there without a doubt. He had the ball in the net against England in a friendly a month or so ago and it was a fantastic finish that was unfortunately ruled out for offside.
He started the last game against Northern Ireland and scored, and I'm thinking that Jogi Low will start with him again against Slovakia due to Muller misfiring and if he doesn't it will be very harsh. Gomez is their only true recognised striker in the squad and he's not a bad one to have.Ladbrokes £50 Free Bet
Germany are yet to concede in this competition and have a fantastic defence in front of a world class goalkeeper that most feel is the best in the world currently, Manuel Neuer. Slovakia do have a goal in them but they haven't come up against a defence this good yet and couldn't even muster a meaningful attack against England so Germany should end this game with a clean sheet.BetStars £30 Free Bet
